Rav Shaanan has been a licensed tour guide since 2007. He has hiked, biked and hitchhiked all over the country since first arriving in Israel in 1997. Shaanan has spent most of his time in Israel building a rich Jewish education. He graduated from Canadian and Israeli universities with a BA, B.Ed and MA in Jewish History and Education. He received rabbinical ordination from Yeshivat Hamivtar in Efrat and earned a tour guide license from the Israel Ministry of Tourism. The Scherer family currently reside in Toronto, Canada. Rav Shaanan spends his summer and winter vacations guiding in Israel and teaches full time in a Jewish Day School during the rest of the year.
